Match 27 in PSL 2021 between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi recorded the highest team total of PSL history. Islamabad United’s gigantic total of 247/2 is the highest score in PSL history. United got to that total with a blastering 100 from stand-in captain Usman Khawaja.
Peshawar Zalmi reply was nothing less than grit and courage. They just fell short by 15 runs in the end with a total of 232/6. Shoaib Malik played a brilliant knock of 68 but couldn’t take his team home.
This reply from Peshawar Zalmi is the third highest score in PSL history. A total of 479 runs were aggregated between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi. This is also the highest runs aggregated in any match in PSL.
And is 52 runs more than the previously highest aggregated game between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United of 427 runs.
Islamabad United was also the previous holder of highest score in PSL history of 238 runs against Lahore Qalandars. United always had that firepower in their team which can completely out-class the opponent.
Islamabad United captain Usman Khawaja also become the first captain to mark a 100 in PSL history. It is also the highest score in PSL history by any captain. Previously, Mohmmad Rizwan score of 82* against Zalmi was the highest by any captain.
United’s total of 247 was the highest among every team in Pakistan and also it was the highest total scored by any team in T20’s hosted in UAE. Five matches were aggregated higher than 479 runs and all of them were outside Asia.
