Former English Captain Kevin Pietersen retired from international cricket in 2018.He was playing Pakistan Super League 2018 when he announced that he will be retiring from all forms of cricket after this PSL.
The 39 year old (Kevin Pietersen) will might be making a return to the Pakistan Super League franchise Quetta Gladiators but in a different role in next edition of the league.
” Pietersen is a good friend of mine.I asked him to join the side as mentor but he declined due to presence of Sir Viv Richards,in order to avoid creating any issue.
We can’t keep many mentors but I’m confident that next year he will join us in a new role” Nadeem Omar said.
Defendeing Champions Quetta Gladiators finished fifth in this year’s PSL.
“Our initial games in Karachi. Our players didn’t get a chance to relax. There came a time when we had to rush directly to the venue from the airport to play the match” he added.
Also regaring Umar Akmal’s suspension just before the beginning of the tournament disturbed the combination of the team.
“He (Umar Akmal) is one of the finest middle-order batsmen in Pakistan and it was a major loss to ur side when he was suspended hours before the start of PSL 5.I would say that it damaged 30% strength of our team” he aslo added.
