A very good news for cricketing fans in Pakistan. New Zealand will be touring Pakistan after a long wait of 18 years. New Zealand versus Pakistan tour/series start with 3 ODIs in Rawalpindi from September 17 followed by 5 T20s in Lahore.
Pakistan’s efforts of bringing International cricket back on the home soil continues. And created history as they prepare to host New Zealand after 18 years. Last time NZ played on Pakistan soil was in 2003. They will be stepping in Pakistan after 18 years of exile.
NZ will be the sixth team in the race who will tour Pakistan. After the PSL entirely shifting back to Pakistan. PSL coming back brings to a lot of confidence in the foreign players and teams.
New Zealand versus Pakistan tour will now open many ways and gates for Pakistan. As they are also preparing to host England and Australia for this series. And they have already made a bid to host ICC events in the 2021-2031 cycle.
New Zealand’s batting coach, Luke Ronchi who have been a regular part of PSL with Islamabad United. Might also have convinced the players and board with the safety concerns and to tour Pakistan.
Some of Kiwi’s main players are also part of IPL, Kane Williamson, Trent Boult, Tim Southee and Kyle Jamieson. IPL will start just after two days of the tour from September 19. As the remaining matches of IPL 2021 will take place in UAE. UAE is also the host of T20 World Cup 2021.
Now it all depends on the NZ selectors and the board as they have a choice to make over. Where they will send their first choice players. Pakistan or IPL.
But playing for your country should also be your priority. The players which are part of IPL should tour Pakistan. New Zealand versus Pakistan series will be very exciting for the fans as top tier players will play on Pakistani soil.
