No Pakistani Player in ICC Team of the Decade

icc team

ICC has announced the ICC Team Of The Decade for Test, ODI, and T20. But it was very shocking to see no Pakistani player in any format. Icc must have forgotten that Pakistan is also a member of ICC and they also play all the formats.

The decade team should have been chosen on the basis of their performances during the 10 years period. If a player’s performance is outstanding during this period, he should be named in the team.

To be very honest the ICC Team of the Decade is rubbish. Many outstanding performances have been neglected just to add their favorite players to the team.

ICC must have announced the IPL team of the decade rather than the World team of the decade. They have missed many outstanding players in the T20 format.

Pollard is included in the team by his international performances are below the par and he only performs in leagues. He was dropped from the Windies team for a long time and had no certain performance.

Instead of Pollard, Shahid Afridi should have been included in the ICC team of the decade T20. We all know the performances of Shahid Afridi in T20i’s and have performed tremendously for Pakistan.

Another important name, Eoin Morgan also have been ignored. But if we look at the performances of Eoin Morgan in the T20 format, it’s just outstanding. He also has led his team excellently well in this period and according to his stats, he should have been included as the captain of the T20 team.

Babar Azam playing with an average of more than 50 for more than 4 years. But didn’t get a place on the team. In comparison to Ab de Villiers, Babar’s average is 50 with more than 15 half-centuries and ABD average is only 25. Missing out on Babar Azam in ICC Team of the decade T20 is a huge no-no.

Saeed Ajmal and Umar Gul were considered as a T20 specialist. Both have huge performances for Pakistan in these 10 years but unfortunately, it seems like ICC doesn’t like them much.

If we talk about test players in this decade there are few players that came into your mind. Alaister Cook, Younis Khan, Steven Smith, Kane Williamson, and Virat Kohli.

All of the players except Younis khan has been named in the test team of the decade. Looking at the performance of Younis Khan, he has an average of over 50 in more than 100 test matches.

He has played alot of cricket in this decade and got retired a few years back in 2017. He is Pakistan’s highest run-getter in Test cricket.

It is very shocking to see no Pakistan players in the ICC Team of the decade. Aren’t there any Pakistan player who deserves to be in this team? It seems like ICC has adjusted different players from different countries in the team and completely ignoring Pakistan.
