Pakistan batting line up collapsed in the 1st T20i against New Zealand. Pakistan lost the match by 5 wickets in the 19th over.

After winning the toss, Pakistan elected to bat first which didn’t prove to be right. In the first powerplay half of the team went to the Pavillion.

Pakistan batsmen didn’t read the pitch well and from the start looks in a hurry. There was extra bounce on the pitch which Pakistan didn’t cope with.

All of the top order batsmen were looking to play every ball on the leg side even if the ball was pitched outside off stump. This was the huge mistake they did and as a result, got out edging the ball up in the air.

In New Zealand the pitches contain extra bounce and you have to play every ball in its direction. Otherwise you will edge the ball in the air.

Pakistan batting line up needs to take some time on the pitch, read the pitch and then play your shots.

Pakistan batting comes backed well after being taken to the cleaners in the 1st 10 overs. Captain Shadab Khan alongside Faheem Ashraf played tremendously and gave Pakistan a defendable score in the end.

This type of batting we expect from every Pakistan batsmen if you want to win the T20 series in NZ Tour.

Pakistan bowling was excellent and they almost pulled it through. Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf bowled to their best and nearly snatched the game from the kiwis.

Pakistan batting made 20 runs short in the 1st innings and as a result, Pakistan lost the match.

Shadab Khan’s captaincy was superb in this match, he utilized his bowlers very well and every time he changes the bowler he got the wicket.

He kept his team motivated throughout the match and wanted to finish the match on the last ball.

Bowling from pakistan was another positive in the match. Bowlers executed the plan well but there wasn’t enough runs to defend.

Pakistan batting line up needs some shuffling in the middle order because of the absence of Babar Azam.

The batting performance from Pakistan in the 1st T20i shows that the team hugely depends on Babar Azam.
