Pakistan Super League Draft 2021 : Some Big Players Out

Pakistan Super League draft 2021 was held on 10th January in Lahore. All the six teams have completed their squad of 16 players each for PSL 2021. 3 players in each category, Platinum, Diamond, Gold and Silver were selected.

Two players each in emerging and supplementory categories were selected. All the teams have selected a good squad so were are expecting to see very exciting matches in the next edition.

A few very exciting picks were taken place in this year’s draft. Chris Gayle “Universe Boss” is once again making his appearance in PSL. He was picked by Quetta Gladiators in the platinum category.

Previously Gayle has played for Lahore and Karachi in the first two seasons. Tom Bonton who was realeased by Peshawar Zalmi was now picked by Quetta also.

After the retirement of Shane Watson Quetta wanted a star batsmen at the top which they got in the form of Chris Gayle.

Another new star player Rashid Khan will make his debut in the PSL 2021 for Lahore Qalandars. They picked up Rashid in Platinum Category in this year’s Pakistan Super League draft.

Lahore’s bowling looks pretty solid as they have Shaheen, Haris and Rashid. These three are currently the best bowlers in T20 cricket.

Lahore Qalandar released Chris Lynn and now was picked up by Multan Sultans.

Another Afghanistan player Mujeeb-ur-Rehman will also play for Peshawer Zalmi in his debut season.

South African star batsmen David Miller Also joined Peshawer Zalmi and this will be his first PSL appearance.

The most important pick of Pakistan Super League draft 2021 was Hassan Ali. Seeing his performance in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy every team was eager to pick him.

But Islamabad United picked him in the Platinum category by a wild card pick.

Dale Steyn who played for Islamabad United in PSL 2020 was released by them and now was picked up by Quetta Gladiators.

Karachi Kings traded Alex Hales for Colin Ingram with Islamabad United and also picked by Muhammad Nabi in the diamond category.

A lot of new faces were added in his year’s edition but also few of previous players were not picked by any team.

It was very surprising to see that Ahmed Shahzad and Junaid Khan was not picked by any of the team.

Umer Khan and Rumman Raees was also in the news that how could be he ignored with the talent he possesses.

Pakistan Super League draft 2021 was bit of a surprise for a lot of people that some of the deserving players were ignored this year.

Looking at the squad of all the team Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi’s squad looks balance and strong. And will be not wrong to say that these two teams looks favourite for PSL 2021.
