Pakistan Test Squad For South Africa Series

Pakistan test squad

Pakistan Test Squad for home series against South Africa was announced today by Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim. He was recently appointed after the sacking of Misbah as a Chief Selector.

Muhammad Wasim has announed the 20-men test squad and it will be not wrong to say that he has completely nailed the selection procedure by selecting deserving players.

This 20-men squad will pratice in a bubble and later prior to the test match 4 players out of this squad will be released.

Pakistan test squad comprises of 9 uncapped players who have the chance to debut for Pakistan.

Excluded players from the squad :

Shan Masood, Haris Sohail, Muhammad Abbas, Shadab Khan, Imam ul Haq, Naseem Shah, Sohail Khan and Zafar Gohar.

Shan Masood is rightly dropped from the squad because of this poor performances in away tours. Haris Sohail also have the same issue of poor performances.

Muhammad Abbas who was the leading pacer for Pakistan in test matches is also dropped due to his poor run in recent matches.

It is pretty injustice with Zafar Gohar as after making his debut in NZ Tour he is dropped from the Pakistan test squad. But he needs to play more cricket and focus more on his bowling.

Players included in Pakistan Test Squad :

Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, Salman Ali Agha, Abdullah Shafique, Tabish Khan, Muhammad Nawaz, Nauman Ali, Hassan Ali, Sajid Khan, Haris Rauf

Hassan Ali has made an outstanding comeback in the Quaid-e-Azam and was awarded as the player of the tournament. After this type of performance he surely deserves his place in the squad.

Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel and Salman Ali Agha all are the top runs-scorer in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2020-2021. They all have been rewarded by given them the chance to prove themselve at the international level.

Giving chances to the deserving and performing players is a very positive sign for Pakistan cricket.

Tabish Khan and Nauman Ali both are almost 36 years of age, but have been performing in the domestic circuit of quite a while now and no doubt they deserve their place in Pakistan test squad.

Pakistan V South Africa test series will start from 26th January and 1st match will be played in Karachi and the second in Rawalpindi.
