In the 2020 season, PSL matches were shown all around the world except India. But this year PCB has signed an agreement with Sony to show all international games of Pakistan including PSL in India. This might be the 1st time PSL broadcasting rights 2021 has been given to an Indian channel.
This agreement with Sony will boost the viewership of PSL. It will help cricket fans in the Sub-Continent to enjoy high-intensity matches in high resolution.
Currently the PSL Broadcasting rights 2021 are with blitz and Trans Group. They acquired the rights in 2019 for 3 year contract. This year will be there last season with the PCB.
Initially the rights were sold for $36 Million in 2019 till 2021. This was 358% higher than the previous broadcasting deal. This contact is set to expire after PSL 2021.
With this deal, PSL 2021 can be seen all around the world including India as well. PCB had already signed MOU with Willow TV to broadcast PSL in North America.
Cricket fans in the Caribbean will watch on Flow Sports, New Zealand on Sky NZ, and the United Kingdom on Sky Sports. The full list of PSL broadcasting rights 2021 are as follows:
PTV SPORTS, GEO SUPER
India, Srilanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan
SONY SPORTS NETWORK
This deal has given PSL a huge boost in revenue as the price increased gradually throughout the three years. PCB should have been given the full appreciation in sealing this contract with Blitz and Trans group.
The brand value of Pakistan Super League started from $93 million. But now the brand value rests at $500-600 million. Within the coming few years it will definetely reach a landmark value of $1bn.
We might not see a new broadcaster in the next season because if the same PSL broadcasting rights 2021 company decided to continue with the PSL.
