Mohammad Rizwan show in the 3rd T20i against Kiwis

Mohammad Rizwan played an absolute blinder and takes Pakistan home in the 3rd and final T20i of the series. Previously, Pakistan have lost both the T20i and the 3rd match was a chance to play for their pride.

Althought Pakistan has lost the series 2-1 but this win was very important for the team because series clean sweep was avoided and also it will surely boost the team’s confidence heading to the test series.

In the 3rd match Pakistan learnt from their previous mistake and after winning the toss elected to bowl. NZ didn’t start well but gained the momentum in the middle of the innings.

Pakistani bowlers were a bit expensive and ended up conceding 173 runs in 20 overs. Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf took 2 wickets each.

In reply, Pakistan sticked with Rizwan to open the innings alongside Haider Ali. From the every start both the openers were batting with responsibility. Their main intent was to not give early wickets in the powerplay.

In the first 2 matches, Rizwan had the start but didn,t managed to convert it to a big score. But this time he was playing like a proper opening batsmen and was dispacting every bad ball to the boundary.

Rizwan batting takes Pakistan to a good score in te first powerplay. Mohammad Hafeez once played his brilliant innings of 41 runs.

Rizwan batting stats in T20i before this game was below the par but in this game he played like a batting genius.

Rizwan played a blinder of a innings of 89 runs and this was his maiden half-century in T20i. He surely has impressed everyone and he might open for Pakistan in other series as well.

Now Pakistan is heading to the test series with a boosted confidence and due to Babar’s absence in the 1st test, Rizwan will be captaining Pakistan.

He will be Pakistan’s 33rd Test captain. Pak V NZ test series will start from 26 Dec.
