Shan Masood deserves all the salute. Despite the difficult conditions for batting, he consumed as many balls he could to get himself settled. He is getting matured game by game and he is the same player who toured England in 2016 for the first time and failed badly.
In 2016, all the critics saying that he has a flaw in his technique and doesn’t play bouncers well and more importantly he doesn’t know who to find gaps and make runs. But after that, he worked really hard on his technique and improved his fitness level as well.
The main key for success for Shan Masood is that he has changed his technique and started to left the ball quite often and his main intention is to survive the new ball. This is the major improvement he has made in his game which in comparison of his tour in 2016 was missing.
In 2016, Shan Masood was trying to reach and play as much balls he could which results in edging it to the slip cordon. But now he was leaving well and playing the ball very late.
Younis Khan being the batting coach will be also benefiting the left handed batsmen because at the start of his career Younis Khan has trained him a lot and also played along with each other.
Pakistan Cricket Board has invested a lot in Shan Masood despite having many failures in the past they stick with him. Now Shan has become a regular and key member of the Pakistan cricket team all because of his continuous dedication and hard work.
Shan has played 20 test matches for Pakistan and now has 4 tons and 6 hundreds before his improvement, he has only scored 1 ton in 17 matches which was below the far for the test match opener.
Now he has become the only sixth Pakistani batsmen who has scored 3 consecutive tons in 3 innings. Shan Masood has proved himself now as the best test opener for Pakistan to play test match right now.
